Opportunity for photographers from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia. The Calvert Journal is now accepting applications for the New East Photo Prize. The deadline is 20 September 2020.
Every two years, the New East Photo Prize recognises representations of the social, cultural and physical landscape of the New East. The goal is to share the diversity and an update perspective from the countries of Eastern Europe and of the former Soviet Union. In previous years, the prize received over 1.700 entries from 25 countries. For the 2020 edition, the prizes include a cash fee of £1.000 to help develop a body of work, a 12-month mentorship programme, and an exhibition with the shortlisted artists. The jury is formed by Joanna Ruck, Iaroslav Volovod, Elena Anosova, Ekow Eshun and Magdalena Herrera.
