The Bienal Fotografia do Porto aims to contribute to the production and dissemination of alternative artistic perspectives and actions that promote ethical and regenerative cultural change that we believe is as desirable as it is essential. The Bienal features exhibitions by national and international artists in museums and alternative public venues throughout the historical center of Porto. The majority of artworks result from residences and research laboratories carried out within the framework of the Bienal. The Bienal pioneers research and experimentation in photography and its transdisciplinary relationship with other artistic fields; promoting alternative methodologies and proposing multiple perspectives, utopian or dystopian, to motivate cultural transformations. The Bienal Fotografia do Porto is organized and produced by Ci.CLO, in co-production with the Porto City Council. The Bienal is financed by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, with the patronage of BPI and Fundação “la Caixa”, the institutional support of UNESCO National Commission and a network of national and international strategic partners.

Founded 1984, the Centre de la photographie Genève [Geneva Photography Centre, abbreviated CPG] is the main institution dedicated to photography in Geneva, Switzerland. Its core activities are the production of temporary exhibitions, with a focus on the contemporary period and particular attention paid to emerging artists, the publication of books on contemporary photography, as well as its art education programmes for professional photographers and artists, and school audiences. As an art centre dedicated to photography and lens-based art, CPG is committed to encourage visual and digital literacy in its young and adult general audience, and to support professional photographers and artists in the development of their career, with a broad scope of distinct but coherent activities. Danaé Panchaud, a Swiss curator, museologist and lecturer, has been its director since January 2022. The Centre de la photographie Genève is one of the three institutions in Geneva’s Bâtiment d’art contemporain [Contemporary Art Building], alongside the Mamco and the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, located in the Quartier des Bains, Geneva’s contemporary art district. CPG produces a vast majority of its exhibitions, alongside selected coproductions and touring of existing shows. Producing new bodies of work and supporting artists and photographers in the development of their specific vision for their exhibition at CPG are key engagements of the organisation, which in turn allow it to present to its audiences artworks exhibited for the first time in Geneva. CPG pays a particular attention to artists and photographers whose work has received limited institutional attention and visibility so far, in Switzerland and abroad. It regularly organises the first solo exhibition, or first significant monographic presentation in an institutional context, of Swiss and international artists of different generation. Swiss and international artists each represent one half of its exhibition programme, with artists born between the 1960s and the 1990s forming the majority of the represented generations. CPG pays special attention to the diversity and representativeness of the points of view it gives visibility to through its exhibitions. CPG launched two education programmes in fall 2022, and intends to develop several further initiatives in the field of art education and visual literacy in the coming years. The first programme is a series of interdisciplinary visits for schools for ages 8 and up. It aims to encourage visual literacy as a key to successfully navigating contemporary society, understanding the media and cultural productions at large, as well as expressing oneself. The second programme is designed to support professional photographers and artists in the development of ongoing projects, through different formats which include workshops, specialised talks and conferences, critical feedback sessions and, as of spring 2023, a mentorship programme. Some formats are strictly in person while others can take place entirely online and be accessible to photographers anywhere in the world.

Nestled within the Pasquart cultural center, Photoforum is a dynamic institution dedicated to photography. Since its establishment in 1984, we have remained committed to empowering emerging and mid-career artists while fostering meaningful exchanges within our community. Located in the heart of Switzerland, our institution occupies the second floor of the Pasquart, a former hospital building, alongside the Kunsthaus Pasquart, Filmpodium, Kunstverein, and espace libre. Photoforum is more than just an institution; we serve as a creative hub, providing support to photographers, nurturing talent, and encouraging the exploration of photography in all its forms. Dedicated to emerging and mid-career photography, we occupy a unique place in the Swiss photography scene. We curate between five and seven exhibitions annually, featuring both group exhibitions and monographs, some of which serve as a launching point for artists, offering them crucial visibility at pivotal moments in their careers. We aim to provide our local and national audience with the opportunity to discover new artists while shedding light on current issues and trends in contemporary photography. Each year, Photoforum hosts Prix Photoforum – an annual open call that recognizes outstanding new works and encourages artists to share their creative visions across a broad spectrum of photographic media—from documentary photography and conceptual works to multimedia installations. Each year, ten to fifteen exceptional artists are selected to present their works at the Photoforum.

PhotoIreland provides a unique support framework focused on artists, the artform and audiences. PhotoIreland grows the reputation of Irish artists globally through a 360 degree support system and platform for contemporary photography, activated through a diversity of projects. These include events such as PhotoIreland Festival and Halftone print fair amongst others; resources such as the PhotoIreland Collection, a specialised research library of photobooks, and Ireland’s Art Bookshop, The Library Project; via publishing with projects such as OVER Journal and TLP Editions; professional development support through networking and consultancy opportunities; and empowering early and mid-career photographers via our international partnerships, most relevantly through Creative Europe co-funded platforms such as FUTURES and Parallel. PhotoIreland cultivates, supports, rewards, and showcases contemporary visual arts practices. Over the last decade, PhotoIreland has become a key constituent of the Visual Arts in Ireland, offering from Dublin an annual festival dedicated to Photography, running a cultural hub in buzzing Temple Bar, and developing constructive channels with a strong network of organisations worldwide. Through these networks, PhotoIreland creates cultural exchanges internationally, promoting relentlessly the works of Irish artists around the world, actively seeking to be present in key festivals, fairs, and becoming the main voice for Contemporary Photography from Ireland. Indeed, it is not per chance PhotoIreland is the only Irish organisation invited as founding member to Parallel Platform and Futures Photography – already a member of 3 EU co-funded projects. Alongside this work, The Library Project, a space that started as a photobook library, has now become a busy Art bookshop focused on visual culture and critical thinking, stocking publications brought to Ireland from all over the world, presented alongside exhibitions and events in its productive gallery space.

Copenhagen Photo Festival is a non for profit organisation and the largest festival for photography in the Nordic countries. The festival has existed since 2010 and today it is also a year round platform that works to shine light on camera and lens based art via events, exhibitions, digital formats and cross collaborations. Through our activities we aim to create community around photography by inspiring, exchanging and advocating for the relevance of photography in an ever-evolving world. Each year in June our endeavours all come together for the festival celebration of photography with exhibitions, networking activities, talks, parties and events at our festival centre as well as with our many festival partners across the region. Copenhagen Photo Festival curates and hosts a number of exhibitions at the festival centre. The festival has an unorthodox and experimental approach to exhibition making and strives to engage with its surroundings over the short festival period – and always with an ambition to uphold a sustainable exhibition practice. Since 2016 the headliners of the festival centre have been selected through an open call and our programme committee selects between 3 to 6 solo artists each year. Several hundred apply to our open call to exhibit during the festival each year. Parallel to the festival’s own activities, the festival presents a partner programme around the city and collaborates with both emerging and established venues that participate with exhibitions, events, talks and more. In recent years the festival has engaged in creating more networking opportunities, support and activities for emerging and established artists and curators from the Nordic countries and abroad with engagement in the FUTURES Photography Platform as well as organising seminars, workshops, photo print and photo book markets. This all aligns with Copenhagen Photo Festival's strategic pursuit over the next years, which aims to create space for dialogue and connections between photography, people and the surrounding environment and society.

Fotofestiwal is one of the first photography festivals in Central and Eastern Europe. This small, spontaneous initiative today, it's an international event with more than 20,000 visitors each year. The festival takes place in Lodz - a city with a remarkable industrial history, which has inspired the organizers from the beginning. Exhibitions are presented in the main festival center - the post-industrial buildings of former textile factories. More than 30 exhibitions can be seen throughout the city, organized in cooperation with local galleries, museums and universities. The program includes: exhibitions (curated Main Program, Open Program, book exhibitions), author meetings, slide shows, film screenings and educational activities. We are interested in photography that tells about the world, intervenes, engages, makes you think and take action. The festival draws audiences from all over Europe every year, with 30 exhibitions and more than 50 events over the 10 days of the festival, in at least 20 locations across the city of Lodz. The festival was covered by:  New York Times, The Washington Post,  British Journal of Photography, Der Greif and many more.
Today, the Rouen Normandy Photographic Centre has been awarded the title of "Centre d'Art Contemporain d'Intérêt National" and is continuing a story that began 30 years ago. It was the first place dedicated to photography in Normandy and one of the pioneers in France, at a time when photography was still a medium in the process of gaining artistic recognition in France. The Centre photographique Rouen Normandie is a place that exhibits and supports photographic creation and accompanies the public in the discovery of its multiple facets. The Centre has an annual programme of 3 to 4 exhibitions, complemented by off-site events in partnership with regional and national institutions (art centres, schools, hospitals, etc.) and a programme of artistic residencies. The Photographic Centre has an artistic line that places aesthetics as a vector of commitment at the heart of its programming and a cultural line that places a point of honour on the materiality of the work and what physical presence implies: the author's choice, the spectator's time.
A new and modern visual arts institute, the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center was opened in Budapest in December 2013. Among the tasks of the new visual institute are the organization of national and international exhibitions; the foundation of a prestigious photography award; the presentation of national and international photographers and photography workshops. Activities of the institution also include foreign study tours, public discussions, lectures, thematic film screenings, and performances, along with events of other art disciplines. Established in the centennial year of Robert Capa’s birth, the Center supports its operational, functional, and program costs from state subsidies, grants, and its own income.
