This year, we selected a group of artists working in the broader regional context whose artistic practices cover a variety of visual approaches we’d like to support through Organ Vida programs. Sanja Bistričić Srića experiments with different techniques of deconstruction and decontextualisation of archived images. The work of Filip Bojović and Pavo Marinović reflects on the visual language and heritage found in the context of the Balkans. Dea Botica revisits family maritime tradition through a speculative documentary depiction of everyday life on a cargo ship. And Fred Mungo captures the mundane experience of serving and eating food as means of understanding social, economical and cultural implications of food consumption.

Dea Botica (b. 1995) holds a BA in Cinematography and an MA in Photography, which she completed at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. Her artistic work uses photography as a medium to explore topics of everyday life, identity, family heritage and tradition. Thus far, Botica’s work has been exhibited at several group and solo shows in Croatia and beyond. She has participated in several residency programmes – most recently in 2021, as part of the European Union art-research project, Island Connect.
Filip Bojović (b.1984) is a Yugoslav-born graphic designer and photographer who lives and works in Novi Sad, Serbia. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, New Visual Media department. In 2003 Filip founded A3.Format, a Serbian-based self-publishing collective, particularly focused on zines and photo books. He was awarded European Design and Grifon awards for his work in the field of graphic design. Filip published his first photo book “Osijek Snapshots” in 2018, and his second book "We will walk" documenting Belgrade's Euro Pride will be published in February 2023. He's been working on an ongoing collaborative project “Turbo Dioxide” with Mirko Žarković (mirkozarkovic.com) since 2019.
Fred Mungo (b. 1994) is an Italian photographer and visual artist, currently based between London and Bologna. Born in Rieti, she first moved to London in 2013 to study. Mungo holds a BA in Fashion Photography from London College of Fashion (University of the Arts of London), and an MA in Photography and Urban Cultures from Goldsmiths University. Her artistic research sits within the framework of visual sociology.
Pavo Marinović (b. 1995) is a photographer and visual artist who lives and works between France, Switzerland and the Balkans. In 2020, he graduated with a BA in Photography from Lausanne’s ECAL. His work has since been shown at Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Fotomuseum Winterthur, and Paris Photo, amongst others. Traversing fields of identity, conflict, and collective memory through photography, video and installation, Marinović’s practice explores the state of a territory in transit, as well as its social effects.
Sanja Bistričić Srića is a Zagreb-based multimedia artist, photographer and cinematographer. Exploring the possibilities of image, sound and text through various media – film, video, photography, collage – her work explores personal themes in a range of diaristic forms. Srića holds a Master’s degree in Animated Film and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb. Her works and films have been widely exhibited in Croatia and abroad, whilst her images have been published by the likes of Elle, Vice and Interview. She is a co-founder and member of the multidisciplinary collective RA’AH, which explores intersections of fashion, art and music.
