My latest series explores issues of digital visual culture through the presentation of popular tourist landscapes. The works explore the relationship between the objective landscape and the subjective, personal image-making process, whereby found footage is objectified into reinterpreted reality through the processing of dream-like visions and transformations. The known world becomes an abstract creative language through the artist’s varied intervention techniques. Analog and digital layers are integrated into my new works – and the resulting montages evoke fictional worlds. My series is linked to a pivotal event, an important life situation. The act of creation stems from personal experience, yet I attempted to tackle and visually represent social issues, and dilemmas.
